Chamber banners: 'Welcome to Byron' flags fly high

It's been a long time coming, but the "Welcome to Byron" banners are finally completed and displayed.

The designing, building, and placing of the new town flags has taken months, but the process is finally complete. On Tuesday, Aug. 12 the banners were put up on various light poles around town. With two different banner styles, one exclaiming "Welcome to Byron" and another with "Byron Area Chamber of Commerce," the streets now have a different feel to them. The light posts that were once bare are now decorated with colorful banners. The Byron Review

Arkansas chamber: 26 youths participate in PCCUA's manufacturers' camp

The manufacturing industry will experience a massive shortage of trained workers as the baby boom generation retires. Giving area students some insight into what the future holds for workers in high-tech careers, the Young Manufacturers Academy (YMA) was held at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA) this summer to create an awareness of manufacturing careers.
To the theme of “Dream it; do it,” the camp was co-sponsored by PCCUA and the Phillips County Chamber of Commerce with the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, which provided the funding. Haas Automation Inc., Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas, Woodruff Electric Cooperative, Entergy, Central Moloney, Langston Companies, Stant USA, and Associated Industries of Arkansas Companies provided program support.
