One Southern Indiana, the local economic development organization and chamber of commerce for Clark and Floyd counties, celebrated a milestone in its economic development efforts Thursday… Wendy Dant Chesser, President and CEO of 1si, kicked off the celebration, thanking those present for their efforts and saying, “economic development is a team sport.” Read More: News and Tribune

Michiana schools now eligible for part of $4.4M STEM grant

Schools across our area are now eligible to participate in a STEM education initiative, thanks to a $4.4 million grant. The announcement was made Saturday morning by Project Lead the Way. Five counties across northern Indiana were selected to implement integrated science, engineering and math programs. To be selected as a model region each county had to raise a percentage of the matching funds. Schools were able to do so thanks to the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce and community leaders. Duneland Chamber's Heather Ennis to President/CEO of Northwest Indiana Forum;

After not quite six years as executive director of the Duneland Chamber of Commerce--during which time she spearheaded a renaissance in the Chamber, oversaw a boom in membership, and introduced numerous initiatives--Heather Ennis is moving to pastures new. Today the Northwest Indiana Forum announced that its board has named Ennis the organization’s new president and CEO. Read more:  Chesterton Tribune

Michael Arnould Named Executive Director of Greater Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce has named Michael E. Arnould of Brownsburg, Indiana, the new Executive Director for the Chamber. Mike brings extensive small business experience to the position, primarily as a result of his work as a manufacturer's representative and operation of the Arnould Sales Agency in Brownsburg, Indiana. Mike most recently was an Advertising Account Executive with The Flyer Group. Read more: Inside Indiana Business
