Michiana schools now eligible for part of $4.4M STEM grant
Schools across our area are now eligible to participate in a STEM education initiative, thanks to a $4.4 million grant. The announcement was made Saturday morning by Project Lead the Way. Five counties across northern Indiana were selected to implement integrated science, engineering and math programs. To be selected as a model region each county had to raise a percentage of the matching funds. Schools were able to do so thanks to the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce and community leaders. After not quite six years as executive director of the Duneland Chamber of Commerce--during which time she spearheaded a renaissance in the Chamber, oversaw a boom in membership, and introduced numerous initiatives--Heather Ennis is moving to pastures new.
