JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Director serves as chief executive officer for the Board of Directors of the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce charged with implementing the policies and programs of the Chamber. The Executive Director is administratively responsible to and reports directly to the Board.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Executive Director is responsible to the Board of Directors to carry out the work of the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce.
a. Ensures that the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and the officers are kept fully informed of the conditions and operations of the Chamber on all important factors influencing them; attends all meetings of the Board and the Executive Committee
b. Plans, formulates, and recommends for the approval of the Board of Directors basic policies and programs that will further the objectives of the Chamber.
c. Develops for the purpose of day-to-day administration specific policies, procedures, and programs to implement the general policies established by the Board of Directors; adheres to goals, policies, procedures and by-laws
d. Provides the necessary liaison and staff support to Board committee chairs and to committee members to enable them to properly perform their functions; sees that committee decisions and recommendations are submitted to the Board for approval
e. Executes such contracts, grants, and commitments as may be authorized by the Board of Directors, or by established policies
f. Evaluates local needs and plans, organizes and directs events, programs and services; evaluates results and recommends policies, procedures, and action to achieve program goals
g. Provides guidance on matters of program, publications, budget, and legal responsibility
h. Responsible for the planning and administration of official meetings of the Chamber
i. Plans and executes communications to the Chamber’s membership, including social media, email, newsletters, general mailings, news releases, etc.
j. Represents in a professional manner, the Chamber in local, state, and regional entities to foster cooperation and enhance implementation of chamber goals
k. Government/Civic Affairs-Keep informed about legislative issues at all levels of government that potentially impact the Fulton County-area business community
l. Works with committee chairs to ensure all events/projects are effective including the maintenance of written records, timelines, budgets and evaluations
m. Oversee the Chamber finances and fiscal reporting (coordinating with the Executive Assistant, Board treasurer and/or the CPA) to consistently keep the board and committee chairs informed
n. Develop and present an annual strategic plan to the Board, due at July board meeting for coming year
o. Prepare organizational work plan resulting from strategic plan
p. Stay informed of local, regional, national and international developments that could affect local business; keep members informed of such developments
q. Carries out other general responsibilities delegated by the Board of Directors
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
a. Degree in business, not for profit management, marketing, or 5 years of commensurate
experience in these or closely related fields is preferred
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
a. Experience with not for profits; preferably in leadership position
b. Experience in developing and adhering to annual budgets
c. Strong organizational skills; planning and implementation, scheduling, time management, detail-oriented
d. Experience in business or working with businesses and government leaders
e. Excellent communication skills – written, oral and presentation
f. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills including demonstrated ability to engage people individually and in groups at all levels
g. Proven history in fundraising
h. Ability to work independently with proven initiative

Responsible for proactive lead generation for the company's target market industries, with emphasis on foreign direct investment.
Responds to requests of information from business prospects, clients, and other involved parties.
Assists potential new business in site selection, coordinates key activities to facilitate the location process.
Must be able to collaborate well with team members, coordinate site visits and board meetings in a professional manner, and other activities related to economic development.

Business Programs Manager

Here’s more about your responsibilities at the Grand Rapids Chamber: 

Manage Chamber business recognition programs, including Ribbon Cutting events.

Here’s who we’re looking for:
Bachelors of Arts or Science Degree in Business Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Marketing Management or related field of study. 

At least 2 years’ experience in Program Management or related field. 

Certified Tourism Ambassador certification. 

Customer service and problem solving skills. 

Comfortable with public speaking and communicating both verbally and in writing. 

Strong decision-making skills and the determination to see projects through to the end. 

Ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal supervision. 

Experience using Weblink or other CRM system. 

Must be comfortable working extended hours, including some nights and weekends, if needed. 

Must be able to travel, mostly regionally.

Job Title: Q2030 Project Manager
Located in Quad Cities of Illinois and Iowa
The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking a Q2030 Project Manager. The Q2030 Project Manager has a strong passion for being a part of making the Quad Cities the best midsize region in the United States. She/he will be an integral part of a team supporting and working with businesses, community leaders and residents to make our region more cool, creative, connected and prosperous by turning ideas into action. The Q2030 Project Manager will be self-starter responsible for ensuring Quad Cities Big Table and Q2030 work groups stay on track, reduce redundancies and that all stakeholders stay informed. In this critical, highly visible, hands-on role, the Q2030 Project Manager will work across sectors and geography providing the support for the implementation of the regional action plan and engaging of Quad Citizens from private, public and non-profit sectors to work together for the common good. This position plays a critical role in the community’s shared strategy to put the Quad Cities atop the competition for a talented workforce, jobs, capital investment and opportunities for all Quad Citizens. The position is Exempt and reports to the Senior Vice President. Note: The position will be filled upon the 2018-19 budget approval.
Essential Functions to be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation:
  • Maintain a full understanding of the current landscape of local and regional activities and work with Sr. VP to promote the alignment of programs and initiatives with Q2030 desired outcomes
  • Manage research and other activities with Q2030 work groups to ensure tight coordination and communication

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Communications, Journalism or Marketing/Public Relations is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible work experience, including one or more years of proven project management, event planning, communications

  • Command of social and digital strategies and have savvy tech skills

We offer:

The Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Director of Community & Government Affairs. The Director of Community and Government Affairs has day-to-day responsibility for working with business, federal, state, and local government units and local community representatives ensuring that appropriate messaging is communicated regarding all the various Chamber resources and initiatives available to support business and the greater community at large.   • Execution of all Chamber and Foundation events including, Annual Meeting, Good Morning Series, Coffee Connections, Member Mixers, Golf Outing, After Hours, Hall of Fame, Athena, all luncheon programs, Lake St. Clair Appreciation Day, State of the County, Expos, Preparedness event, Get to Know Your Chamber, Seminars and any other event the Chamber or the Foundation conduct.
