Good morning #ChamberWorld! It's going to be a GREAT day!

#BestChamber practices: (Laughter is the Best Medicine) How to go VIRAL on Social Media, or What Flavors Would You Pair Together?   #pringles #wine #wichitafalls #walmart #viralnews
Henry Florsheim
For those of you posting pics of great landscapes or asking questions of your members to get good reach on Facebook, here's a strategy we recently employed:
1. Have one of your citizens get caught riding a motorized scooter in the Walmart parking lot at 6:30 AM while drinking wine out of a Pringles can.
2. Have the story run on local media.
3. Have story go viral after being picked up by national media.
4. Have friends from all over the world contact Chamber staff making fun of us.
5. Post meme about the wonderful combination of wine and Pringles.
6. Let the engagement begin.

Apparently, it was a thing before it was a Thing!
Which flavors would you pair together?

West Suburban Chamber of Commerce Seeking Nominations for The Regional 30 Under 40 Recognizing Young Leaders who Impact the West Suburban Region

The West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WSCCI) is excited to announce the search for the next class of The Regional 30 Under 40. This initiative identifies 30 individuals under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the region. Committed to its mission of building a vibrant community of thriving businesses who understand the greater good of our communities, the WSCCI will recognize these 30 individuals on May 16, 2019 at the Brookfield Zoo. Nominations are being accepted until February 22, 2019. “Last year, in our inaugural year, we received more than 50 nominations and hosted a fabulous, sold-out event in May where these individuals were recognized,” said WSCCI President & CEO, Suzi Wirtz, IOM. “Many of last year’s recipients immediately became involved with the WSCCI, attending and leading events as well as serving on committees, which was one of our goals, that is, to engage future leaders in their communities and the Chamber.” The continued success of a regional Chamber depends, in part, on a commitment to identify and promote future leaders, which in turn assists in maintaining a vibrant community of thriving businesses. Candidates for The Regional 30 Under 40 must live or work in one of the WSCCI’s nine communities, be under 40 on or before May 1, have passion for their company’s mission and culture, exhibit leadership qualities and demonstrate significant contributions to the region. They will be selected by a group of experienced professionals from the WSCCI’s current leadership, Top Tier members and past recipients. The next group of impactful young professionals will be announced in March and will be honored at the May 16th evening celebration. Membership in the WSCCI is not required in order to be nominated. Only one presenting sponsor will be chosen this year; that organization will receive the following benefits: logo placed on each winner’s crystal award, full-page ad in the onsite program, logo on all marketing materials, including social media, logo on display at the event and 10 tickets to the event. For more information and detailed criteria, visit WSCCI.org. Nomination forms can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BGLKYRY ### WSCCI is the collective voice of the region’s business community, advocating pro-business initiatives and public policy on a state and local level. Economic prosperity is driven by promoting the thriving business climate, geographical preference, and demographic diversity of the region. The vast resources within our membership are leveraged by encouraging innovation and the exchange of ideas, information, and opportunity for the benefit of the entire community. 2019 PRIORITIES: Attracting industry, downtown businesses among EMBDC priorities

The Meridian Star invited some community leaders to write about their top three priorities for 2019. Today's column is from Bill Hannah, president and CEO of the East Mississippi Development Corporation.
Being the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Organization for Lauderdale County is quite an honor.
We represent, and serve, over 500 businesses and industries in our immediate area. We are blessed with great “neighbors” in surrounding counties who understand and believe in the “power of regionalism.”
2019 EMBDC Priorities
There are multiple initiatives ongoing at EMBDC for the benefit of our community and members (some are well-planned, some are still evolving).
One definite priority is to complete the development work at the I-20/59 Industrial Park. If you’ve driven by that area you’ve noticed quite a bit of change over the past 3-4 months. There’s still work to complete, but once the development is finished the landscape of the industrial park will literally be changed. The Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors have taken the lead on this and we’re now working with the City of Meridian to re-route a road that dissects this property.
A second priority is to fully engage our downtown businesses and work toward an effective, coordinated Main Street Organization. There are issues remaining but the need for one organization to shoulder the administration of this effort seems fairly fundamental. EMBDC could be that organization or there may be another one that makes sense.
Lastly, in addition to the development work at the industrial park, we continue to focus on establishing a “best in class” existing industry program, led by existing industry executives. Along these same lines of growing jobs and growing better jobs, we’re also pursuing new industry opportunities that best fit our area. Read more: Meridian Star
