U.S. Chamber Awards Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce with 5-Star Accreditation

U.S. Chamber Awards Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce with 5-Star Accreditation
Sterling, Illinois. The United States Chamber of Commerce awarded the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce with 5-Star Accreditation for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive impact on the community.
“Chambers of commerce play a critical role in their communities” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, U.S. Chamber vice president of Federation Relations and Institute for Organization Management. “From connecting business owners with needed resources to advocating on behalf of their members with lawmakers, each day these outstanding chambers convene thought leaders and strengthen the collective voices of their members.”
Accreditation is the only national program that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement. In order to receive Accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in their operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs, and technology. This extensive self-review can take 6-9 months to complete.
“We are really proud to represent the Sauk Valley Area member businesses and this community. The accreditation recognition verifies to our members that we work diligently to maintain the highest standards, implement effective programs, and impact change in areas important to our member businesses and organizations as well as resident of the Sauk Valley.” Shared Kris Noble, Executive Director.Local chambers are rated Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars. State chambers are recognized as either Accredited State Chamber or Accredited State Chamber with Distinction. The final determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members. The Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce has been accredited since 1972 and this year received a 5-star rating; the highest level of Accreditation given by the United States Chamber of Commerce. There are over 7,000 active Chambers of Commerce in the United States; with 208 having the distinction of being accredited.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
The mission of the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is to Enhance the Economic Climate and Quality of Life in the Sauk Valley Area. More information: www.uschamber.com

Linda Bynum, Ridgeland Chamber: Believe in the Magic of Christmas... Adopt a Child and Make their Dreams Come True!

Dear Chamber Members:

This year we have once again partnered with Highland Elementary and have added Ann E. Smith Elementary to provide Christmas to 43 precious children whose families are having tough economic hardships.

These boys and girls, ranging in age from 4 to 10, have given the Chamber their names, sizes and three Christmas wishes which are very affordably priced.

We would love to find individuals/families to "adopt" these precious children and give them a Christmas they will always remember.

At this very special time of the year, we join with you to remember those who are less fortunate. Please help us to "adopt" these children and keep the hope, love and joy of Christmas alive in their hearts.

Just let us know and we will give you all the info you'll need.

Thank you for your support of our Chamber and great City.

Sincerely,

Linda

U.S. Chamber: Quick Take: Your Primer on Association Health Plans

Fill me in:Earlier this year, the Trump administration issued a new rule expanding what are known as Association Health Plans (AHPs), which will allow small businesses to offer their employees the same type of coverage as larger companies. These new AHPs enable small businesses and self-employed Americans to essentially band together, whether by industry or geography, to enroll in a more affordable health plan that will cover more employees.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for the networking opportunity, held prior to the start of the session.
St. Joseph Church Parish Center, 1029 Kundek St., Jasper

THE POWER OF JOY!
We write about it, read about it, sing about it, talk about it. Yet, how much do we genuinely experience it?  So many people are waiting for joy to just happen, to show up on their doorstep and ring the bell.  But joy isn’t a rare phenomenon that randomly appears out of thin air.
Rather, it is a state of wellbeing we can choose for ourselves and our families daily.

WEW welcomes Denise McGonigal, co-author of JoyPowered Family, to speak on the power of joy.  She will share experiences and stories on how to embrace the many faces of joy – in celebration and sorrow, work and play, calm and chaos.  Her presentation will encourage families to discover and harness the power of their strengths in making joy happen around them.
Her book will be available for purchase after the meeting.

 Reservations required by DECEMBER 7:

RSVP to the Jasper Chamber of Commerce at 812-482-6866 or chamber@jasperin.org.

Lunch $5 per person—payable at the door.* Please bring exact change!

*Those unable to attend after having made a reservation will be charged the $5.00 per person fee
