Position Objectives:
The Tysons Chamber is seeking a visionary leader, advocate, and ambassador to serve as Executive Director. This person will serve as the key representative for the Tysons Chamber and will represent the Tysons Chamber to numerous partners and fellow membership organizations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for short- and long-term Tysons Chamber growth and development;
- Provide the Tysons Chamber with strategic, collaborative leadership, effective management, and vision guided by its mission;
- Prepare an annual budget for review and approval by the Board;
Development & Fundraising:
- Develop and implement opportunities to increase membership revenues including fundraising projects, event sponsorships, membership drives, donor cultivation, retail initiatives, and other funding opportunities beyond traditional sources;
Membership & Advocacy:
- Grow Revenue: Develop and implement opportunities to increase Membership and attendance at Tysons Chamber events.
- Amplify Reach: Expand our visibility within the community including, programs, special events, partnerships, and other creative strategies for engaging community members and other groups, increasing membership;
- Organize: Prepare and present an annual report to the Board and membership;
- Represent: Attend local city meetings to remain informed and to be an advocate for Chamber Members. Also, share information with the Board regarding Tysons-specific changes.
Operations:
- Board of Directors:
- Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement professional standards of operation, policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines;
- Staff:
- Hold full management responsibility for all staff, services, and activities;
- Maintain and use Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Google products (Google docs, Google sheets, Google slides), providing guidance to staff or Directors if needed.
- General:
- Manage the development and implementation of Tysons Chamber goals, objectives, and priorities and recommend and administer the policies and procedures required for their accomplishment;
- Act as the liaison between the Board of Directors and the staff, the membership, community, local and regional governments, including boards and commissions therein, professional organizations, other businesses, the press, and the public;
- Events:
- Attend and represent the Tysons Chamber at member ribbon cuttings, etc.
- Participate in partnership roles and disseminate relevant information to the Board of Directors and Committee Leaders; such as Northern Virginia Chamber Partnership and Regional Women’s Circle of Influence.
- Programming:
- Take a proactive role in the recruitment and ongoing professional development of our Membership;
- Present monthly orientations and attend most events hosted by the Chamber, including, but not limited to After Work Mixers, Business Growth Workshops, Special Events, and more.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Staff: The Executive Director directly oversees and manages all staff and their collateral processes and other functions as appropriate.
- Board: The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors through the Chairman of the Board and/or POC and is required to maintain active communication with members of the Board of Directors and its committees.
- Members: The Executive Director will be required to collaborate and adhere to agreements established between the Tysons Chamber and our Membership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred;
- Financial Development:
- Successful experience with strategic planning, fundraising, sustainable financial development, and financial management;
- Experience seeking and securing funding from business sources and public and private foundations;
- Work Experience:
- Previous ED experience;
- Previous management and leadership experience, preferably in a corporate or non-profit environment;
- Experience with change management;
- Experience with/ability to demonstrate an understanding of the operations, services, and activities of a comprehensive Tysons Chamber program/events.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience with community engagement and outreach;
- Experience with/ability to demonstrate an understanding of the legal and ethical issues specific to Tysons Chamber;
Compensation:
This is a full-time position. Salary is negotiable based on experience with a range of $60,000-$65,000 plus performance incentives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In conjunction with the Board of Directors and staff, the President and Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the following essential functions.
- Strategic and Operational Planning – Develop a strategic plan in partnership with the Board and annual business plan with measurable objectives for delivery of successful outcomes on Chamber events, projects, and programs; aligns objectives with annual budget revenues and expense projections.
- Budget and Finances – Develop an annual budget in conjunction with the Board of Directors, and manage revenues and expenses in accordance with established budget. Develop fundraising strategies which further the mission and financial resources of the Chamber.
- Board Relations – Build and maintain strong relationships and communications with the Chair of the Board, Executive Committee, and the Board of Directors. Plan and organize Board and Executive Committee meetings.
- Community Relations and Advocacy – Collaborate with the Board of Directors to identify and manage the Chamber’s relationships with, and advocacy efforts before, state and local governments. Represent and promote the Chamber and its policies and objectives in a variety of public forums, including with state and local government elected leaders, partnering organizations, and individual businesses.
- Membership Relations, Development and Retention : Assist with recruiting and retaining new and existing members of the Chamber. Analyze and interpret the need of members and make recommendations to increase membership, engagement, and financial support.
- Marketing and Communication – Maintain high visibility in the community to establish collaborative relationships, and to create awareness and increase perception of value of the programs and services and the influence of the Chamber.

The Executive Director provides executive leadership to the Hopkins County Regional Chamber of Commerce and carries out the strategic decisions of its Board of Directors (BOD). - Support the officers of the Chamber. Maximize and leverage a strong BOD relationship and provide the leadership necessary to assure full Board participation. Maintain regular contact with and advise the Chairman and the other Chamber officers (Past Chairman, Chair-Elect, Vice Chair, and Treasurer). Plan and organize Executive Committee, BOD, and other meetings as appropriate. Assist the BOD in identifying other community members who might become involved in Chamber activities. - Member Relations
- Assure the organizational priorities are responsive to member needs. Recruit volunteers and motivate to purposeful action.
- Promote the Leadership Hopkins County and Hopkins County Young Professionals programs in a way that encourages individuals who complete these programs to volunteer and become more involved in “giving back” to the community.

The Wisconsin Business World program was founded in 1982 to teach high school students about business and economics. Today Business World focuses on educating high school students throughout Wisconsin on business, economics, entrepreneurship and the free enterprise system. Annually, Business World holds three week long summer camps at UW-Madison, St. Norbert and UW-Stevens Point.
The Mini Business World program is a condensed one day program that is conducted regionally throughout Wisconsin with the goal being to maximize the reach of our business education curriculum. Annually, about a dozen one day programs are hosted at technical colleges, universities, high schools or member companies. The mini programs are scheduled within the framework of the school day and students are placed in teams and tasked with creating their own companies. At the end of the day, there is a ‘Shark Tank’ like pitch where judges grade students company formations and presentations. Between Business World summer camps and the Mini Business World programs, we educate over 1,000 high school students annually.
The Manager of Business World develops and implements state-wide and local programs on financial literacy, career planning and business ethics for high school students across Wisconsin. As the manager, you serve as the face of the program leading the onsite programming, developing curriculum, planning the camps/minis, recruiting business professionals to serve as onsite student advisors and assisting in fundraising for the Business World program.

Position Purpose
Under minimal supervision, responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer, accounts payable and receivable and general office duties.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
