“Things are even better than I thought,” Vitter said. “Ole Miss is in high demand.”
Vitter also added that the Ole Miss brand is strong and has steadily increased over the past 20 years.

Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce Rooster Booster Breakfast September 1

The Featured Speaker, Earl Hewlette,  is CEO of Charleston, South Carolina-based Terressentia Corporation, owner of the new O.Z. Tyler Distillery in Owensboro.

Since joining Terressentia in 2007, Hewlette has overseen the dynamic growth of this company that is situated at the intersection of tradition and technology. Over the past 8 years, annual revenues for the distilled spirits company have grown from $7 thousand to $20 million.

Terressentia was formed in 2006 after a chemist and architect began looking for a way to mature whiskey in a shorter period of time, as compared to spending years in a barrel. They discovered a safe, sustainable way to use ultrasonic energy to remove harsh-tasting impurities and reveal better taste and aroma in a variety of distilled spirits. The company was founded around this natural process that has been patented under the name TerrePURE.® The team at Terressentia, applies the TerrePURE® process to a wide range of distilled spirits including whiskey (bourbon and rye), gin, vodka, tequila and rum for the private label, private brand, and global bulk spirits markets. The superior tasting products are winning over not only consumers, but judges in international spirit competitions.

In 2014, the company purchased the former Medley Distillery and renamed it in honor of and as a memorial to the co-inventor of the TerrePURE® process, O.Z. Tyler. After two years of renovation, Kentucky Bourbon is now being produced at the historic distillery site. When fully operational, the O.Z. Tyler Distillery will be turning out 30,000 barrels of Kentucky Bourbon annually.

Rooster Booster is the monthly breakfast meeting at 7:30 and premier event for our 102 year old organization. Held at the Owensboro Convention Center on the banks of the Ohio River, “Rooster Booster” is considered the largest and most notable monthly chamber meetings in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.   This month’s sponsor is Brescia University.

Cost is $12 per Chamber Member/$20 for non-Chamber members.  The event is open to the public.
