Tanya Pullin, D-South Shore, and Rep. Kevin Sinnette, D-Ashland, helped answer public questions following Adkisson’s talk. Field representatives for Congressman Thomas Massie and Sen. Adkisson especially spoke of the need for public private partnership (P3) legislation, which was vetoed in the 2014 General Assembly. Chamber issue - Nebraska: Tax reform showdown at Capitol draws nigh
With a month to go before state lawmakers and the new governor convene at the Capitol, the stage is set for a major tax reform showdown.
And some of the players are already past rehearsals.
Legislative staff presented a pair of extensive studies Tuesday examining the potential impacts of property and income tax reform in Nebraska, as well as how reforms have worked in other states.
The goal is to get “a running head start” on the issue, said Sen. Galen Hadley, chairman of the Legislature’s Revenue Committee and a candidate for speaker.
