This is one way to recognize them.”

Michigan Chamber Applauds Supreme Court’s Decision to Uphold Right-to-Work Law
In a 4-3 opinion, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled Michigan's Right to Work Law law applies to state employees, putting to rest questions over whether approximately 35,000 unionized state workers have the freedom to decide for themselves if joining or financially supporting a union is the right choice for them.
The Michigan Chamber was a key supporter of Michigan’s Right-to-Work law when it was enacted in March 2013. The Michigan Chamber supports the law because it is good public policy that protects all employees from being forced to join a union and pay dues against their will. Additional information about the law is available here.

On Friday, the
Kentucky Chamber presented Sen. Julie Raque Adams of Louisville with the
Chamber MVP Award. Sen. Adams was among a select group of legislators
recognized for conspicuous actions supporting Kentucky’s business community
during the 2015 Kentucky General Assembly.
“With so many
important business issues in play during a legislative session, we feel it is
important to highlight the efforts of those legislators who went out of their
way to help ensure a positive business climate,” said Kentucky Chamber
President and CEO Dave Adkisson. “Senator Julie Raque Adams is one of a select
group of leaders who fought for a better business climate. As a small
token of our appreciation, we are presenting him with an engraved Louisville
Slugger to thank him for going to bat for business.”
In addition to
monitoring the progress of bills that directly relate to the strength of the
Commonwealth’s business community, the Chamber tracks how each legislator votes
on these bills. The Chamber’s MVP award recipients displayed more than just a
business-friendly voting record, but also went out of their way, and at times
across party lines, to support or oppose an issue critical to the business
climate in Kentucky. To see how these and other legislators voted on business issues
during the 2015 Kentucky General Assembly view the
Chamber’s Results for Business publication here. Read more: Kentucky Chamber
Western DuPage Chamber collaboration: Car show highlights Warrenville's Summer Daze
The collection of classic American cars that converge on downtown Warrenville during the city's annual Summer Daze festival sometimes packs some surprises.
One year there was a street rod from the 1930s modified so it had a '50s feel to it, said Steve Bachorski, president of Countryside Customs, the Warrenville body shop that organizes the show.
"Occasionally, something exotic will stop in. We got a Lamborghini. That got a lot of attention," he said.Another time, a gear head drove up in an English taxi featuring the right-side steering wheel, he said.
Typically, he said, the show draws 100 to 150 vehicles, including restored classics, street machines, muscle and pony cars, modified late model cars and motorcycles.
The car show starts at 10 a.m. Saturday and winds up around 3:30 p.m. with an awards ceremony.
This year's festival is the 38th Annual Summer Daze, said Karey Ross, Warrenville Park District marketing supervisor. The event is a joint presentation by the park district, the city and the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce. Read more: Daily Herald
