Wes Smithwick earns prestigious OCCE Chamber award
Wes Smithwick, Broken Arrow Chamber and Economic Development Corporation President and CEO, was honored as the 2014 recipient of the Sheila Lee Executive of the Year Award by the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives (OCCE).
The award was given at the OCCE annual meeting this week.
The Shelia Lee Executive
of the Year award is the highest award given to an Oklahoma Chamber
professional currently employed in the profession.
Smithwick, who has been
at the Broken Arrow Chamber for four years, was recognized for this
award because of his work in Broken Arrow and his leadership in the

North Platte Chamber honors merchants at annual luncheon meeting
The merchants of the Westfield Shopping Center were honored during the North Platte Area Chamber of Commerce and Development annual meeting luncheon Thursday.
The shopping center, located at the corner of A Street and Carr Avenue, has done a lot of work over the past year to revamp appearances and attract new customers.

Three other North Platte
merchants were also honored for their work in expanding their business
and creating attractions for the community. Condon Signs was bought back
by Chad Condon and Sean Condon from Love’s Signs. Blakely Enterprises,
owned by Chris Blakely, was awarded for renovating the Dixon building in
downtown North Platte. Candy’s Cupcakery was recognized for creating
“one of the most visible storefronts” in the city, said John Hales,
