In order to prevent future possible burglaries, storefront businesses should take the following
precautions:
• Ensure your burglar alarm is set every night and all exterior doors locked.
• Ask your burglar alarm company to call the police immediately upon activation and not call a keyholder prior to calling the police. Time is of the essence.
• If you have store video, make sure it is working properly and that copies can be made of any footage.
• Do not keep cash in the cash registers overnight. Leave your cash register drawer open with no money inside. Lock the cash in a hidden safe place overnight or utilize your bank's night deposit box.
